The islands of the Maldives are rich with heritage. We are working to include information about the cultural and natural heritage found across the islands of the Maldives on this website. Heritage Trail
The first of its kind in Maldives, the Laamu Gan Heritage Trail known as "Tharika Maga" project was inaugurated on 24 October 2023. Stretching about 1 km in length, the Trail meanders through Coastal Vegetation of Laamu Gan. It links up cultural heritage site called "Haiytheli", a Buddhist stupa and natural heritage site called "Paree Fenganda", a natural lake surrounded by lush green trees of Mangrove.

It was a privilege to host the High Commissioner during the recent visit to Laamu Atoll. We are deeply grateful for the recognition of our ongoing efforts to preserve the natural & cultural heritage across Maldives.
