The L. Maabaidhoo Council and the Maldives Heritage Society have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to collaborate on heritage conservation, research, and cultural preservation initiatives in Maabaidhoo.

Under the agreement, both parties have committed to working together to identify, protect, and promote heritage sites within Maabaidhoo. The partnership aims to ensure that these heritage assets are preserved and utilized in ways that benefit the island and its residents, while also supporting the implementation of heritage-related plans and initiatives.

In addition to the signing of the agreement, discussions were held on researching and documenting the island’s historical and cultural heritage and on methods for compiling, preserving, and archiving related information for future generations. Both parties also explored opportunities for further collaboration in promoting heritage awareness and safeguarding Maabaidhoo’s unique cultural legacy.

Through this partnership, the Maldives Heritage Society and the L. Maabaidhoo Council aim to strengthen efforts to preserve, document, and celebrate the island’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
