Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal Visits Heritage Sites in Laamu Gan
The Minister of Tourism, Honorable Ibrahim Faisal, visited heritage sites in Laamu Gan today.
During the visit, the Minister toured important heritage areas of the island, including Pareefenganda and the Haiytheli area. He also visited the Heritage Trail developed under the initiative of the Maldives Heritage Society to connect Pareefengandu and Haiytheli.
Representatives of the Maldives Heritage Society briefed the Minister on the historical significance of the sites, the development concepts proposed by the Society for the area, and the various heritage and conservation activities currently being carried out by the organization.
Discussions also highlighted the significant potential of the area for heritage tourism. With its unique combination of natural heritage, cultural history, traditional folklore, and scenic landscapes, Pareefengandu and the surrounding heritage sites present valuable opportunities for the development of sustainable heritage tourism experiences in Laamu Gan, benefiting both visitors and the local community while supporting conservation efforts.
