Event Date: 23 October 2025

The Maldives Heritage Society has today completed the installation of an information board about the historic mosque located in Laamu Hithadhoo within the mosque compound. The information board was installed with the assistance and support of the L. Hithadhoo Council.

This mosque is a historic coral stone mosque believed to have been built during the period when the renowned Dhevvadhoo Rasgefaanu served as the chief judge in Maldivian history. The interior walls of the mosque are beautifully decorated with finely lacquered traditional inscriptions and designs.

As an important cultural heritage site, this coral stone mosque is visited by tourists, students, and members of the public interested in learning about its historical significance. The newly installed information board contains important historical details about the mosque. In addition, visitors can scan the QR code displayed on the board to access a webpage containing further information.
