On 25 January 2023, representatives of the Maldives Heritage Society met with the President of the Haddhunmathi Atoll Council, Mr. Ismail Ali.

The meeting was held to introduce the newly established Maldives Heritage Society, which aims to protect and promote the Maldives’ cultural and natural heritage while raising public awareness of heritage conservation. Discussions also focused on potential activities and collaborative initiatives that could be carried out jointly with the Haddhunmathi Atoll Council during 2023.

Representing the Society at the meeting were President Thoha Abubakur, Vice President Mariyam Neena, Secretary Ahmed Afrah, and member Ahmed Arshad.
