Maldives Heritage Society Receives Funding for Paree Fenganda Platform Development

The Maldives Heritage Society has officially received a Small Grant under the Endheri Project following the successful proposal submitted by the Society to support the implementation of management plans prepared for protected areas in Laamu Atoll.

The grant award letter was presented by the Minister of Tourism and Environment.

The proposal submitted by the Society focuses on the development of a viewing platform at the natural heritage site known as Bodafenganda, more commonly referred to as “Pareefenganda,” located in Laamu Gan. The platform is intended to create a safe and accessible space for visitors to experience and appreciate the protected natural environment.

As part of the project, the Society also plans to conduct tour guide training programs aimed at empowering wome & local youth and strengthening community participation in heritage interpretation and sustainable tourism activities.

The Small Grants initiative, implemented through the Endheri Project, aims to increase the participation of NGOs and community groups in environmental conservation efforts. In addition to the Maldives Heritage Society, two other NGOs also received grant award letters under the second round of the small grant program today.
